Hi, can you tell me if there are any spaces still available for Saturday 11th August 2012 Introduction to enamelling on copper with Tilly Wilkinson ? Also, will this be a practical course and what will the cost of materials most likely be?
Many thanks
Victoria
Hi Victoria, it is a practical course using small pieces of copper & learning to apply layers of enamel, firing each layer in the kiln. To book you would need to telephone the gallery on 01947 600933 and the gallery will need a deposit (they can do this over the phone I think). The gallery is not open Mondays. It is £55 per person
It will be a fantastic opportunity to have a go at enamelling!
Hi Rachael, there should be a link where the word email appears but it is lynne.glazzard@gmail.com
Whereabouts are you from?
Look forward to hearing from you
Best wishes, Lynne
Thank you for your enquiry.
The workshop to make each other wedding rings in sterling silver is £350 (per couple).
It is traditional ring making class for couples to make each other their silver wedding rings, adding extra significance to your wonderful day. Using sterling silver sheet or wire you will learn to saw, shape and solder a ring to before hammering it to create your own unique textured finish and polishing. You don’t need any jewellery making experience as you will be carefully guided through the process, step by step. Dates are arranged to suit and at the moment I could offer 6th or 28th July or August is fairly clear for me. I also have plenty of weekdays available.
I always ask for a 50% deposit to confirm the booking and can send you my banking details to make a direct payment. You would need to bring a packed lunch, tea and coffee are provided.
My studio is near the pretty village of Glaisdale on the North York Moors, about 12 miles inland from Whitby. My postcode is YO21 2QA so you can do a map search and see exactly thereabouts I am.
I would recommend doing this at least 5 or 6 weeks prior to your wedding day – especially if you want to have the rings hallmarked as this takes around 3 weeks. I can recommend local B&Bs, let me know if you would like details – links to some are on my blog under “Something to do on a rainy day” http://metal-clay.com/
Please let me know if you would like any additional information and you are welcome to telephone if you would like to speak to me.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Best wishes, Lynne
It includes enough sterling silver (strip or wire) to make the 2 rings – if you wanted to use gold then this would be an additional charge, depending on the exact size
